Funerals, vigils and other general states of mourning are always tricky to cover. I feel awkward that I'm there, but at the same time they have the potential to make incredibly powerful images. I feel like I never got comfortable shooting-wise at this vigil, which was held after the sudden death of a well-liked high school Navy Junior ROTC commanding officer.

Funerals, vigils and other general states of mourning are always tricky to cover. I feel awkward that I'm there, but at the same time they have the potential to make incredibly powerful images.
